Pope 2.0

What an ingenious move! The pope getting a facebook page is a brilliant way to get to where the young people are, The Internet!

With this bold maneuver he has opened himself to a whole new generation of service attending, donation plate filling teenagers. Way to go Big Man!

The Rockstar Physicist

Well after watching the video of "The Rockstar Physicist" I found it incredibly amusing that he was actually a former rockstar and it wasn't some form of joke.

I think it's remarkable the passion he shows for what he does when he tells his creation story, he shows total believe and confidence that this is the truth, and I find that incredible.

I am keeping my eyes open for more talks from Brian Cox

Well, awhile back I had the pleasure of reading an article about the deep rooted emotional experiences brought on by "Tweeting" (Verb that has recently integrated itself into our vocabulary, It is from the base verb "To Tweet" which is the act of posting something on Twitter)

This article has stated that tweeting may make up for lost face time and may help us deal with our fear of dying. It has stated that while you are tweeting, and commenting and being commented on, you are never alone, you are never forgotten. This may ease our fear of dying, and more so of dying alone or being remembered. No one wishes to die and be immediately forgotten, and twitter prevents this, or so they believe.

I believe that this article is right, I believe that subconsciously people are screaming through twitter "Look at me! I'm here! I exist!".While if any Tweeters admit to this is unlikely, as it is a highly personal issue if this is correct, and this is simply theory.

The Pope and Africa

Well everyone, In case you weren't already aware, just recently the Pope single handedly killed thousands of people without raising a finger. How was he able to commit such a dasterdly deed you may ask? Well that's simple, he enlightened us mere mortals that condoms in fact don't prevent the spread of HIV, they in fact make the problem worse. So while my initial comment was slightly misleading, anyone with any semblence of intelligence will realease the implications of his comment and it's inevitable death toll.

As for my opinion on this incident? Well just read the above paragraph, it should be a general clue to my disgust.

IDC...Ken Robinson's Talk...Creativity in Schools

I perceived this to be eye opening as while we are constantly begin informed that the world is constantly and rapidly changing, it is revealed that our education system proves to be stuck in a form of suspended animation. Our various courses are still arranged in a hierarchy of importance, with math's and sciences far far out in front. With arts and other forms of creative outlets are being dragged behind them.

I'm at a loss in how mind numbing creativity crushing courses are seen as superior then courses that foster innovation and originality are see as less when it is constantly being declared that only creative ingenuity and can solve the problems we will most certainly face in the near future. So here we are stuck in an education system that has changed a minuscule amount in almost 200 years, it appears that we have progressed from the stone age to the bronze age in 2 centuries, GO US.

So here we are in this world were the 2 greatest suppliers of knowledge The Media and The Education system are telling us conflicting tales and we have no way of knowing whom to believe other then basing on our opinions. Unless you have a better way of deciding?

My Personal Experience with Blogging

Never before in my life have I blogged, which in hind sight makes little sense as I'm extremly opinionated and am suprised that I have never pursued this larger venue to spread my cynism. So this is my first time blogging and am hoping that it proves to be an interesting experience.
